Security

Security has become a necessity for all compters. Homes and small business that access the Internet and/or use email can become infected by viruses and malware. Prevention is far less expensive than repair. Many programs are free and will do a good job protecting your system.

The outlines below may change as necessary to ensure a great learning experience.

Classes will be $25/hour unless otherwise noted.

This class will provide you with a good overview of the types viruses and what programs to use to protect your system. This class will be one hour (1 hr).

 

          • What types of viruses are there and how can I get infected?
          • Firewalls, anti-virus, and other programs
          • How can I tell is my computer is infected and what can I do about it?
          • Modern browers and operating system updates
          • Should I buy anti-virus and firewall prograsm or use a free ones?
          • Best practices to avoid getting infected
