The Origin of Tea (from wikipedia)
In one popular Chinese legend, Shennong, the legendary Emperor of China and inventor of agriculture and Chinese medicine was drinking a bowl of boiling water some time around 2737 BC when a few leaves were blown from a nearby tree into his water, changing the color. The emperor took a sip of the brew and was pleasantly surprised by its flavor and restorative properties. A variant of the legend tells that the emperor tested the medical properties of various herbs on himself, some of them poisonous, and found tea to work as an antidote.

This is the first of our monthly newsletters. We are delighted that you joined our mailing list.

Our shop did well during its first four months thanks to all our customers. As the new year began, we expanded our inventory of loose leaf teas and fresh roasted coffee beans, we remodeled our shop, and began offering a new beverage, a Tea Latte.

When we researched sources for our teas and coffees, we determined that price was not as important as quality. All of our teas and coffees are organic and free trade certified, which we believe are as important as quality. You may notice the term bio-dynamic in the name of some teas and coffees. This term refers to a style of farming that is ecologically progressive and predates the term organic. Organic products use some of the principles associated with bio-dynamic farming. Our paper to go cups are eco friendly and where possible we have chosen renewable products like wooden stir sticks instead of plastic.
